La Aurora Preferidos Edition 1903 Corojo (Gold) Parejo in Robusto size has been chosen by the magazine ‘Cigar Aficionado’ as Cigar of the Week for the week beginning 18th of April. The experts of this specialised magazine have given it a rating of 90 points.
In the tasting note, the magazine’s specialists highlight the floral and cedar notes present in this cigar. They also appreciate the aromas of orange peel, honey, nuts and leather. In their opinion, the citrus touch remains constant throughout the smoke.
The Aurora Preferidos Parejo Corojo (the Gold cigar with the golden tube in the doble-figurado format) is made up of tobaccos from the Cibao Valley (Dominican Republic), Brazil and Cameroon in the filler; a binder from the Cibao Valley and a Corojo wrapper, also from the Cibao Valley.
The six cigars in the Preferidos Edición 1903 line, like this cigar highlighted by ‘Cigar Aficionado’, are available in two formats: Parejo and Doble Figurado. They are the same six blends, but with different shapes: straight (Parejo) or oval (Doble Figurado).
In the case of the Parejos, they bear the name of the wrapper (Connecticut, Maduro, Ecuador, Cameroon and Corojo) and the vitola is the colour of the tube in which they are presented in their Double Figurado version (Diamond, Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire, Platinum or Gold).
The cigar evaluated on this occasion and selected by ‘Cigar Aficionado’ as Cigar of the Week is in Parejo format and Robusto size (5″ x 50). In Parejo it is also available in Corona (5 ½” x 42) and Toro (5 ¾” x 54) sizes.
La Aurora 107 Nicaragua has also been awarded Cigar of the Week
