On February 15, we received a visit from the captain of the Las Águilas Cibaeñas baseball team, Juan Carlos Pérez. He brought with him the two trophies recently won by the team: the national title and the champions of the 2021 Caribbean Series title. Las Águilas Cibaeñas belongs to the Professional Baseball League of the Dominican Republic.

The team, headquartered at the Cibao Stadium, won the 2021 Caribbean Series Cup undefeated. The team beated Criollos of Puerto Rico in the final game. Thus, the players of Las Águilas Cibaeñas brought the title to the Dominican Republic. The Dominican Republic is champion of the tournament for the second consecutive year, following the victory in 2020 of the Toros del Este, a team based in La Romana.

The captain of the champions knows our facilities

During his visit to La Aurora, the captain of Las Águilas Cibaeñas met with our president, Guillermo León, and with La Aurora’s master blender, Manuel Inoa. He also met many of the people who work at La Aurora. Juan Carlos Pérez visited the facilities of our factory. Along the route through our facilities, he was able to learn about the manufacturing process of Premium cigars and got to show the trophies won by the team.

In addition, he learned first-hand about all our products, including La Aurora ADN Dominicano. It is a cigar made through a process inherited from the Taino people, the Andullo method. The tobacco that is the soul of this cigar goes through this artisanal technique. Broadly speaking, it consists of the natural fermentation and curing of the tobacco inside yaguas (leaves of the Royal Palm tree, a typical plant of the Greater Antilles).
