Italian consumers—who are very passionate about our cigars—were very enthusiastic about the latest online master class for Italy, given by our master blender, Manuel Inoa. This event, held on May 5, had more than 700 registrations and 470 logins.
To join this master class via Zoom, organized in collaboration with our distributor in Italy, International Tobacco Agency, participants had to previously purchase the La Aurora 107 Nicaragua Training Kit. With this training tool, they were able to follow the explanations of our master blender on how to taste the cigars.
During this training, the participants tasted the pure grade cigars included in our Training Kit, guided by Manuel’s explanations. The first lesson our master blender gave them was about the tobacco plant, since it has a different chemical composition depending on the leaf level the tobacco leaves came from and on the seed variety.
He also instructed them on the perception of cigar flavors: through the mouth, but mainly using the sense of smell. Manuel Inoa also talked about the most frequent notes that can be detected in cigars:
- Red citrus fruits
- Green citrus fruits
- Sweet fruits
- Wild berries
La Aurora 107 Nicaragua, the start of the event for Italy
Subsequently, he focused on the cigar that was the star of the event: La Aurora 107 Nicaragua. After detailing the tobaccos in its blend, all Nicaraguan from different areas of the country, they were tasted through the pure grades. After learning about each tobacco in the blend of La Aurora 107 Nicaragua, the participants tasted the blended cigar.

Prizes for participants
In addition, the event was attended by the president of La Aurora, Guillermo León, who thanked the attendees for their participation, passion, and loyalty to our brand. He also talked about the company’s history, which is mainly a family story with deep-rooted values.
During the event, a contest was held in which prizes were awarded to the participants. To win the prizes, consumers had to answer questions on Manuel Inoa’s explanations and Don Guillermo’s speech. The first participant to type the correct answer in the chat, won the prize.
