On Friday, February 23rd, during the Procigar Festival 2024 gala dinner, La Aurora presented an exceptionally crafted humidor, symbolizing the essence of our rich history and artisanal dedication. It stands as a masterpiece, honoring our roots and the values that have guided us for over a century.
This humidor is a unique creation, designed with the same innovative spirit that marked our birth in 1903. It holds 120 La Aurora 120th Anniversary Limited Edition cigars in the Preferidos 1st format, paying homage to our origins. Encased in an aluminum tube reminiscent of the first format produced by our hands 120 years ago, the humidor bears the creed of the León family, a testament to their enduring legacy. Accompanying accessories include a cutter and a lighter with rose gold details, crafted exclusively for this occasion by the renowned brand Xikar.
Crafted from walnut wood, prized for its strength, durability, and beauty, the humidor features a piano finish, adding a touch of refinement. Its robust construction provides insulation against external heat and cold, ensuring the cigars inside remain protected. With dimensions exceeding 16 inches in length, over 20 inches in width, and approximately 10 inches in height, it boasts handles made of high-quality solid rose gold-colored metal, further enhancing its elegance.
The humidor fetched a final auction price of US $18,000, contributing to the total proceeds of US$530,000 garnered from all the auctions. As is tradition, the proceeds will be allocated to charitable causes. This year’s beneficiaries include Home For My Family, a Procigar initiative supporting cigar factory workers with limited resources, Voluntariado Jesús con los Niños, a non-profit organization dedicated to aiding sick children, and the Hospicio San Vicente de Paúl, a retirement home for elderly individuals from low-income families.
