La Aurora Cigars was the main sponsor of the Cigar Lounge activity. It was held on August 18th within the framework of the exhibition of exportable goods at the Dominican Republic Export and Investment Center (ProDominicana). In August, the exhibition focused on the wide world of tobacco and the event featured one of our rolling masters.
“The international leadership that we have achieved with tobacco is due to the quality of our product,” said ProDominicana executive director, Biviana Riveiro, during the event. “Every month, Dominican export products find in ProDominicana a space to show their quality and variety,” he added at the event, which was sponsored by La Aurora.
Riveiro also explained that, with the exhibition of local export products, ProDominicana seeks to promote local companies and producers, as well as the quality they offer to international markets, as published by Listín Diario.
Leadership of the tobacco sector in international markets
In recent years, the country’s tobacco sector has gained undisputed leadership in international markets. At present, it is the main market for agricultural exports, generating US$623.06 million between January and June 2021. This figure reflected a growth of 71 percent, compared to the same period in 2020, according to El Universal Digital.
ProDominicana is a government organization that wants to support and promote Dominican products, and therefore showcases an exhibition of different products each month. The celebration of the Cigar Lounge was attended by different figures from the export sector and connoisseurs of the world of Premium cigars, as reported by Diario Libre.
